Scope: Ballroom/Banquet Hall, Prefuction, Pearl Meeting Rooms, MICE.
Location: Deira, Dubai

PROJECT BACKGROUND:

Hyatt Regency is a modern luxury hotel situated on the Corniche in the Deira district of Dubai. The refurbishment project of the Hotel aims to enhance the modern and luxurious character of the main public spaces such as the banquet hall, meeting rooms, convention and exhibition areas. DELTA worked closely with the Interior Design team of GAJ Architects to refresh the image of the hotel as a modern and luxurious venue.

LIGHTING DESIGN:

The Ballroom was identified as a key, was addressed by DELTA to make it versatile and a centre of attraction for the guests. A system of remote controlled accent down-lights add a dramatic effect by highlighting only the tables, allowing for a low level ambient light, this solution also offered a great flexibility for table distribution and function arrangement. The introduction of coloured cove lighting adds a sense of magic and drama, creating ambient light from blue starry sky to bright day time or warm sunset cozy atmospheres. Uplighting rhythmic features at the perimeter of the room, added a sense of human proportion and scale.

In the MICE area the lighting scheme has the capacity to adapt to each use of the space such as different layouts in a meeting room and appropriate ambient light for projector scenes. For the corridor and circulation areas DELTA introduced staggered lines of light which add a dynamic character and break the potential monotony of a linear space.
